The Philippeion at Olympia is a small Ionic order circular memorial to Philip of Macedon and his family (including his son Alexander the Great and his wife Olympias). It is a building commenced by Philip to "commemorate his victory at Chaironeia in 338 B.C., and probably finished by Alexander." (x)
